There are several ways for someone to tell if they are in an abusive relationship. Some people will not even realize that they are in an abusive relationship or they are just in denial that it is happening. There is more than just one type of abuse. It can be emotional or physical. Some signs would be they humiliate or yell at you, criticize or put you down, ignore your opinions or accomplishments, blame you for his own abusive behavior, treat you as a sex object, get extremely jealous or possessive, control what you do or who you talk to, check up on you, make threats against you, threaten to commit suicide if you leave them. Those are just a few of several signs of an abusive relationship.
